The latest public meeting held on January 31st 2012 at Albert Halls with Network Rail was attended by 400 residents. A vast sea of hands indicated overwhelming support against the proposal for a train wash and stabling facility adjacent to Pike Road. MSP’s and local councillors also informed Network Rail that they must go and consider another venue that is not close to homes.

The public meeting held on November 9th 7-9pm in the Mayfield Centre about the train stabling depot proposal was attended by around 150 residents. Many expressed their concern about the proposals. Network Rail staff encouraged residents to put into writing those concerns and ideas in either email or in a letter to them. We suggest that including the MSP’s, MP and councillors is also important. (details in this website).  The process of objection needs to continue and residents should not become despondent and give up their dialogue. Members of this community council are looking for people to join them, who have  ideas and energy, who can help us all pursue the aim of NOT HAVING THE PROPOSED TRAIN FACILITY HERE AT PIKE ROAD.
