Please everyone express your objections and reasons against the proposal from Network Rail to place the train stable and wash along Pike Road to Transport Scotland. They will be able to make the decision if the proposal is accepted to go the the Scottish Govt to vote. We need to make sure Transport Scotland rejects the proposal!!!

Pike Road has been identified by Network Rail as the preferred location to accommodate a Train Stabling, Wash and Minor Works Facility.
This facility would run the length of Pike Road from Targe Wynd all the way to Maurice Avenue. Hundreds of families will be affected by this: noise, pollution, drop in house prices, increase in crime… This facility would operate from 8pm – 6am all week.

At the meeting with Network Rail on 31 January at the Albert Halls, Stirling from 7-9pm over 400 residents attended asking 40 questions, showing our strength with a unanimous raised hand vote against the proposal to place the train stable and wash alongside Pike Rd. Two MSP’s and 5 councillors attended giving their support against the proposal. Network Rail was given a clear and loud message by all in the hall to GO AWAY AND THINK AGAIN, TAKE THE PROPOSAL WHERE THERE ARE NO HOMES NEARBY.
It is STILL important to write to the MSP’s urging them to refuse the proposal made by Network Rail and Transport Scotland which they will have the final decision on.

It is nonsense and nothing more than scare mongering to state that this facility will lead to an increase in crime.
This is same scare mongering you have carried out when you state that the facility will be used by 34 coaches per night when in fact it is only 27. Or when you liken the lighting used as Bathgate to that proposed at Polamise (which it isn’t).
This land was always Network Rail land and so was seen as being of use to the railways. Land that is not of use to the railways was passed to BRB(Residury) for sale, as in the land on the other side of the railway, at the point of privitisation. If those residents of Targe Wynd did not get this fact reported to them by their surveyors when they bought their houses, then they should complain to the surveyors, not Network Rail.
Finally I trust those of you who are objecting to this are retired or have good, safe jobs. In objecting to this you risk the loss of potential new jobs to the people of Stirling.
I am a Broomridge resident, but am afraid that I cannot attend the meeting to speak out in favour of this project as I am working. So I have left this comment to provide a bit of balance instead.
